George Mason University Symposium
on
Information Technology for Homeland Security (IT4HS)

The Symposium is designed to bring together and promote collaboration among government policy makers, local industry working in the field of Information Technology, and researchers from the Department of Information and Software Engineering, School of Information Technology & Engineering, GMU.

The key goals of the IT4HS Symposium are:

  • To provide an overview of IT needs for the Homeland Security presented by government agencies
  • To allow local industry to create contacts and start collaboration with both government agencies, and GMU researchers with an eye toward joint initiatives and funding.
  • To provide a broad overview of IT research applicable to Homeland Security from some leading researchers in the areas of information, computer and network security, critical software systems engineering, data mining and decision guidance, and information systems integration.
