ISE Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Policy

The ISE department has established the following policy with regards to the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT): The GRE/GMAT is required of all applicants except under the following circumstances:
  1. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in science or engineering from a university within the United States, who graduated with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 hours,
  2. Applicants with a graduate degree in science or engineering from a United States university, or
  3. Admitted non-degree students who meet all the following requirements:
    • Have an undergraduate degree from a university within the United States
    • Have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 hours
    • Received at least a B in all foundation courses (taken at GMU or elsewhere)

If more information is required for an admissions decision, the student may be required to take GRE or GMAT.
