Objective (as stated in the course catalog)

Concepts and applications of telecommunication technologies, networks and distributed information systems. Topics include regulatory issues, network pricing and management.

Prerequisites

INFS 501, 515 and 590 or equivalent.

Course Material

  1. Data and Computer Communication, by William Stallings. (3rd edition, ISBN=0-13-084370-9)
  2. Material avilable at the Companion site.

Grading policy

Weights: Five assignments (5% each) 25%, Midterm Exam 25%, Final exam 25%, Project 25%.
Late Submissions: Discouraged, but allowed under exceptional circumstances with prior approval of the instructor. No incompletes will be given.

  1. March 12:Project Posted.
  2. Feb 27:Mid-term exam will neither be cancelled not postponed due to cancelation of the review on 02/22/2001.
  3. Feb 22:University Closes at 4.30 - hence calss cancelled and are my office hrs and the review. Answers to questions from HW's 1 and 2 are in front of my door. If you want to hand in HW 3 early, you may do so in person, before the due date in exchange for a solution set.
